Adjunct Associate Professor
Marietta Saravia-Shore is Adjunct Associate Professor, Lehman College, CUNY where she teaches “Aesthetic Education: Visual Arts.” She received her Ph.D. in Anthropology and Education from Columbia University and an M.A. in Arts and Education from Teachers College. Co-editor of Cross-Cultural Literacy: Ethnographies of Communication in Multiethnic Classrooms (Garland), she was Associate Director of the Institute for Urban and Minority Education (IUME) for Professional Development and Educational Programs at Teachers College, Columbia University where she founded and directed the IUME Cross-Cultural Literacy Center. At Lehman College she served as Executive Director of the Bronx Educational Alliance for seven years. She volunteers at the Metropolitan Museum of Art and serves as secretary of the Board of the Maxine Greene Institute.
