Taiwan Delegation Visit
On October 9th, 2014 several members of The Maxine Greene Center's Board of Directors and Advisory Committee
met with a delegation from Taiwan's National Academy for Educational Research and their Director, Dr. Hsin-Hsien Fan.
Apparently, Maxine's Variations on a Blue Guitar has "had a huge inpact on the researchers and educators in Taiwan".
We met for several hours to discuss aesthetic education and it's relationship to Maxine's concept of social imagination.
Aesthetic education has been designated as one of the Academy's long-term research projects and they will be holding a conference on the subject in Taiwan in November of 2014.
The Center and the Academy look forward to ongoing dialogue and exchange in the year to come.
