Create, Present, Respond Authentic Assessment of Creative Work
Jennifer Anderson and Heather McLeod
How can experiential, creative, and collaborative work be measured and assessed in the context of changing goals and expectations of international public education systems? This symposium will focus on the impact of standardization and educational testing on arts-based programming. It will be of interest to performing and fine arts faculty, creative writing instructors, as well as education faculty who integrate the arts into their teaching.
Jennifer Anderson is an instructor and researcher in the area of educational assessment, critical mathematics, and community-based education. She is currently involved in teacher education initiatives at Memorial University, St. John's, Newfoundland, Canada.
Heather McLeod is an associate professor who teaches undergraduate and graduate arts education courses at Memorial University. She currently serves as Interim Associate Dean of Undergraduate Studies.
This is a first in a series that will explore the role the arts play in teaching and learning
