Michael C. Gillespie, EdD

 

Michael C. Gillespie has been associate dean of Academic Affairs at the Borough of Manhattan Community College for the past 12 years.  His primary responsibilities include overseeing faculty development, academic support services, high school partnerships, Freshman Learning Academies,  the Rubin Museum Project, and the Urban Male Initiative.

Over his 41 year career, Dean Gillespie has been a high school English teacher and counselor, corporate training officer, professor of English and Teacher Education, and director of the NYC Principals' Centers at City College and Bronx Community College/CUNY.

Dean Gillespie received his combined AB/MAT degrees from Brown University, and his MA and EdD from Teachers College, Columbia University where Maxine Greene and Lawrence Cremin were his favorite professors.
